One day, in June, I was outside listening to the radio on the backporch. Then suddenly I hear what I didn’t think that I heard right, the Beatles were coming! I was so thrilled to even hear that! My wish was finally coming true! Or at least just a little part of it. So I went down to the local music shop, which wasn’t far from the house, and bought my ticket for the concert that was in two days! I really couldn’t wait so up the stairs I went, lightning fast for that moment, and into my bedroom. I quickly looked through my closet for something to wear. But at long last, I found a short but long enough, green short sleeved dress. Hmmm, I thought, now which shoes! Aha! I knew that I had a pair of green knee length boots that I hadn’t worn since I bought them because there wasn’t any big enough occasions to wear them to, but now this was something worth wearing them for!

The next day, I went down to the local hotel that was a

short walk as well, and I found thousands of fans outside the entrance to wait for the Beatles to come and possibly get a look at them. But I was there because I had to go see my dad who worked there at the hotel. Everyone knew who I was so they let me in. But as soon as I got inside everyone was rushing around possibly getting everything ready for them and of course I had a part-time job at the hotel so I put on my uniform and went to pitch in with the help.

At last I had found my dad instructing us where to put

everything and how it’s supposed to look. Once my dad spotted me, he quickly went over to me and said, “Jayne, why are youhere helping out with all of this stuff?”

“Well, for being the good, helpful person that I am, I just wanted

to help out you guys so you wouldn’t get anything wrong or

something to go missing around here.”

“Oh alright then, Could you go and see what is going on in that kitchen

please?” So off I went into the kitchen and saw what they were upto and

pitched in. As I walked around getting things in their places and fixing dishes as well, I saw loads of Rum and Coke both in little bottles individually. Then as I was coming out because my dad had told me to go out, I saw all the fans start moving, pushing, shoving, elbowing each other to get to the car that was now entering to go and drop them off.

Then my dad told me to be careful and polite to ‘our guests’ during their stay. So my dad sent me to the door to greet them. Just as they were coming out of the vehicle, I realized that ‘our guests’ were the one and only the Beatles! I thought that I would faint or something but I held onto the door frame for balance. As they came upto the door, I opened it and let them in but I was careful not to leave the door open too long for fear of the fans coming in and storming the place just to find them. As I snapped out of the daydream I was in, my dad

told me to go show them to their room. So I went to them and acted very casually. But coming to think of it, I really think that they thought that I didn’t know who they were because I was jittery or screaming put on a crummy smile or anything. As the elevator opened up on their floor, I stepped out and led them to the suite that they were staying in. When I opened the doors, the boys immediately ran inside and into their rooms. And I let them be once they had all of their bags. Then about two minutes later, Brian, asked me if I would like to

stay and chat for a while, but, I said that I was really busy

and that maybe some other time. Then as I was working in the

kitchen with the cooks, the room service phone rang and I went

to pick it up because everyone else was busy or occupied at

the moment and much to my surprise, it was none other than Paul

on the other end of the line!

So I took their orders and gave them to the cooks. As I

was about to hang up, I heard voices in the background and then

a different voice say, “wait a minute miss, could we by any chance

get some rum and coke?”, I thought for a moment and answered,

“why yes you can I’ll have everything up to you as soon as

its all done ok?”, and so then we finally hung up the phone

and got their drinks while their food was being prepared. Then

as soon as the cook announced that the meals were ready, I

came rushing in and took the food and put it on the serving cart.

So I took it upto their room, knocked lightly on the door but

just enough so that they would hear me. Of course, out of all

the people in there that could have opened the door, but that

sweet heart, Paul. I handed him the food cart and the drinks

and I gave the very relieving bill to Neil. Later that evening the

boys went out to the pool. While they were out, I went in because

well, I was their maid for their rooms, I tidied up the place but left

everything where it was and took the dirty dishes to the kitchen.

When the boys came back, I was still fixing up the room and of

all the many reasons out there, since they were drunk, John went

up right behind me and well, he uh, did what nobody ever really

expected him to do, not even Neil or Brian or even Mal.

After a few minutes of severe confusion, we all broke out

into a laughing fit that no one seemed to be able to control.

Then once everyone calmed down, we all went out to the little café

downstairs of the hotel or on the first floor. At the café, we all

had a nice conversation going when suddenly, Mal chimed in that

they had a press conference later so, that meant that they

couldn’t stay long to even finish up their drinks plus the

conversation but amazingly they did finish both their

drinks and the conversation.

Later that evening, the boys came back looking rather

drowsy from their press conference. As it turned out, that’s

exactly what happened! First, they were drowned with questions

from the press that they had heard before, then, they were

bombarded with questions that they couldn’t answer but well,

they tried to answer everybody the best that they could. So when

they came in they immediately crashed wherever they landed,

either on the couch, or the bath, or even the kitchen area, and

the bedroom. As usual, Brian needed some aspirin and water so

I went to go fetch some for him. When I was almost out the door,

John asked me if I could get them some ‘ciggies’ from the shop.

When I came back, they were already sleeping so I just

placed the ciggies beside them so they would see them easily

when they got up the next day. Of course I didn’t forget about

Brian and gave him his much needed aspirin.  But before I went

out to go home for the night, I heard one of the boys mutter

my name, of course it turned out to be John. What could he

possibly want at this hour? I thought. Well, at least one of

them was kinda awake for that matter. So I turned around and

went to his room. “What is it John?”, I asked. “Is something wrong?”

“No I just wanted to talk to you that’s all. That’s ok right?”

“Oh yeah sure that’s ok. So what’s up? Anything new yet or what?”

“Well, yeah there is something new. We’re making a new album for

this year’s holidays. I’m not sure how it’s gonna turn out but I hope

that it’ll be good. So what’s up with you?”

“Nothing new at all really. But I’m getting a horse for my birthday!

I’m so excited that I just can’t wait for my birthday to come. Well, of

course I know how to ride. I’ve been riding since I could walk!”

“Wow. I hope you have fun with it. Say, when is your birthday? You never

told us or me for this matter.”

“Heh, heh. Sorry I guess I never thought about that until now…

but it’s on the fifteenth of July. How about you?”

“Mine is on the ninth of October.”

“Oh. Well that’s new. Well, goodnight.”

“G’night luv. See you tomorrow. Ta for the ciggies and else you’ve

done.”

“Your welcome. Bye!”

So that night I went to sleep dreamless. But in the middle

of the night I couldn’t sleep at all. Maybe I just couldn’t help

being excited for my birthday next month or maybe I just can’t

figure out why I just had the most wonderful conversation

that I never thought would ever happen. A few minutes later, I

slowly drifted off to sleep. The next day I got up earlier than

I normally did and went into the hotel when they had just opened

it up.

Everyone welcomed me and I just sat there in the lobby

waiting for something to do. Then at the right moment, as if on

cue, the room service phone rang and I went to pick it up.

“Hello? Who is speaking?”

“Hello, yes this is Neil from room 518. I would like to place an

order for the boys if you don’t mind.”

“Oh of course not Neil. This is Jayne the girl from yesterday.

Yeah I’ll get on that right away.”

“Oh hello there well, the boys would like some cornflakes if

you don’t mind at all. Thanks.”

“Oh I don’t mind I’ll get that to you right away in a little while.

Bye.”

So I went and got the cereal, the spoons, the bowls, and the

fresh milk and brung it up to them. Mal opened the door

for me when I knocked on the door. As I walked in I saw that the

boys were up and about but still a little groggy from last

night. All were there except John. Where could he possibly be? ,

I thought, maybe he’s on the balcony outside. So after serving

Paul, George and Ringo, I went out to the balcony and of course

as if I really knew it, sure enough there was John, leaning against

the railing looking out to the seaside.

“Beautiful isn’t it?” I asked.

“Yea. It is lovely.”

“I brought your breakfast. Are you gonna eat or stay out here

for a little while?”

“Both. Eat out here if it’s not a problem is it?”

“No, it’s not a problem at all. I’ll be back in a while or

whenever you guys finish up OK?”

“Alright ta Luv”

“You’re welcome. Bye.”

So I went back into the lobby and waited for a few

minutes. Then I hear footsteps on the grand staircase.

It actually sounded like someone running like they were in

a hurry. I turned around just in time to see Neil running

towards me, looking really panicky. “What’s wrong Neil? Is

everything okay?”

“No. It’s really terrible! You better come up here and see

for yourself what I mean!”

“Okay Neil, lead the way!” So off we went to see the ‘terrible’

thing. When we got to the room, everyone was outside on the

balcony and yet again all but John. Then I started to panic

really badly. I walked over to the edge of the balcony to

see what would greet me oh so tragically. As I looked down, I

saw a crumpled figure of what appeared to be clothes! Then

as I looked harder, I saw that it was John! It finally came to me,

John was trying to commit suicide! How terrible!

That’s when I heard Paul, who was right beside me, say, “Hold on

Johnny, hold on! We’ll get you don’t worry!” Then I turned to go

out into the lobby and call an ambulance and RNs but the line

was busy so I had to use someone’s cellphone and call.

Just as I was getting a hold of the hospital, Paul came up

behind me and took the phone from me. “What are you doing?

We don’t want anyone to know. We can get private help okay?”

“Alright, But why? I mean everything has a way of getting to the

press and the reporters and all that crap. What then?”

“Don’t worry about it. Neil will get right on it right Neil?

“Yup!” So then Neil went away to get private help and so now

Paul and I were all alone in the living room area of their grand

suite.

I tried to move but somehow I was immobilized. But something

in his eyes told me that everything was going to be ok.

Then I got an impression that John was only faking it so that

Paul could have ‘the girl’ and so that ‘the girl’ could have Paul.

All this was spinning in my mind when it all vanished because of

one thing… Paul kissed me. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know

what to do. All I could think about was the fact that Paul kissed me.

So for the rest of the day I stayed with them and of course

my suspicions were correct about John just faking it but I

really do think that he fell or maybe not but whatever he did,

Neil sure looked pretty scared. Anyroad, Then Paul asked me if I

was going to the concert that night and I said, “Of course I am.

Why? Did you think that I wouldn’t and just stay here the whole

night with nothing to do? No Way!”

“Well in that case, why don’t you meet us there in about

half an hour if it’s possible right?”

“Of course it’s possible. Okay meet you there in half an hour.”

“Alright bye then luv.”

“Bye Paulie.” So I leave and go back to my house and eat a quick

dinner and get ready for the concert that night. Looking

at my clock, I noticed that it was almost time for me to leave

and meet them at the stadium, where they were going to be playing

at, and so I hurried up and put on my boots and flew out the

door saying “Good bye” to my parents.

Once I got there, I noticed a car driving up slowly behind me.

Now this car wasn’t big and flashy, nor was it a limo. IT was an

ordinary Ford or whatever with the boys all packed inside. So I

stopped by the gate and waited for the gate to open up. At first

I think Paul didn’t recognize me until I called his name and so he

called me over and gave me a backstage pass that no other

could get. I stayed with them until it was time for the concert and

they went up on stage while I stayed backstage but I was still

able to hear them and see them. After the concert was over, we

went back to the hotel and of course my parents were there

because they knew that I would be there with the boys so they

bombarded me with questions and I tried my best to answer them.

That night I stayed over with them and partied till 1:00 am then

I went home. The next day Paul came over alone and caught me in

the kitchen making breakfast for everyone in the house, with the

exception of him of course. So since he was there he helped me with

everything. Then after breakfast, we went outside on the porch and

just sat there talking. All of a sudden, Paul makes me jump after

the quiet, peaceful moment we were sharing, with a really surprising

question, “Jayne? I’ve never asked anyone this before but I really need

to know the answer.”

“What is it Paul? It’s ok go ahead.”

“Well, I talked to your parents last night and they’re ok with it first

of all, and well, Will you go on tour with us? For the remainder of the

tour in this case?”

“How could I ever say no? Oh Paul! You’re the best!” I said giving him a

kiss on the cheek.

“Your welcome luv. Oh and uh we’re leaving tomorrow if that’s ok with

you.”

“Of course it’s ok Paul!” So then he left and I went up to my room and

packed up my suitcase with enough for 3 weeks in it. The next day

Paul came back this time with Mal and put my suitcase in the trunk

along with his own. As we got to the airport, we had to hurry to

catch the plane. Once on the plane, our journey began.

As the days went by, it was getting harder and harder to cope

with and endure. On the last day of the tour as we were heading

back to bring me home, we stopped at a little place that they

wanted to go to so we went. But one thing I least expected was

in store for me.

Paul went to a little corner table dragging me with him

while the others seemed oblivious to it. Then as I sat down, Paul

took my hand in his and said, "This has been really hard for me

to say this to you but I love you and I want you to tell me your

answer truthfully ok?"

"Alright, I will answer truthfully. Pop the question."

"Here goes, Jayne, will you marry me?"

I didn't know what to say or what to do but I felt hot, fresh

tears rolling down my cheeks as I held his hands in mine. After a

minute or 2 I finally said, "Yes, Paul yes I will. I love you 2." So then

he took the ring from it's case and put it on my right hand (because

i'm a lefty) and we went back to the table after I dried my tears.

As a year passed and of course I went to see Paul often

in London, England, and there we were planning our wedding.

After a whole lot of planning and making appointments with the

shops needed, the day finally arrived. We both were thrilled about

it, not to mention our parents as well. At the reception, we made

our little get away to the stables. Then we went back but

nobody noticed so that was good. And then I moved in with

him that summer and we lived in total peace.

The End:) I hope you liked it! Email me if you want me to write more
